FIBER ARTIST & WEAVER
Lane Royall is a full-time mama and a sometimes weaver in Venice, California.
She first fell in love with driftwood, collecting hundreds of pieces from her travels up the coast. Then came the yarn. She discovered the world of fiber art and begin obsessing over colors, combinations, and textures. Last came the weaving. Lane’s 3-year-old daughter was gifted a loom for Christmas. As they learned the basics of weaving together on the simple, handheld loom, it was Lane who fell madly in love with the art. Inspired by nature (she has an affinity for the sea, sunsets, and rainbows), her modern handwoven wall hangings celebrate color, fiber, texture, and the California coast.
As a former math teacher and current stay at home mom, she yearned for the creative outlet and the meditative benefits of weaving. Seven looms later and counting, weaving has become a passion that is a part of her every day.
