Ten Women Gallery, is a vibrant community of female artists. Our storefront showcases a kaleidoscope of unique art and handmade gifts. We are a true co-op in every sense of the word, and share all expenses and responsibilities required in running the business. What started as a group of ten women in 1994 has grown over the years to become a home for up to 30 local artists with a second sister location on Montana Ave. in Santa Monica. We offer two levels of membership, Full Member and Associate Member.
As a Full Member, you have space at the shop to sell your work. You pay a monthly rent, with 100% of the proceeds from the sale of your art going to you (minus credit card fee). Full Members work behind the desk at the shop one 3-4 hour shift a week. Full membership requires each artist to attend co-op meetings and serve on a committee dedicated to the running of the shop.
As an Associate Member, you have half the space of a full member to sell your work at the shop. You pay a monthly rent, with 100% of the proceeds from the sale of your art going to you (minus credit card fee). Associate Members do not have to work a shift at the shop, but are encouraged to help on a committee wherever possible. Associate members are welcome at co-op meetings and are permitted to voice their opinions in that open forum, but are not extended a vote on formal decisions.
We select our artists through a jury process. If you’re interested, please apply via the link below. If the work you submit fits with what we are currently curating, you will be invited to an interview (likely along with other candidates). At the jury meeting, you will meet the co-op members and show samples of your art. After the interview, the members vote to make their final artist selections. We hope you will consider joining us!
