Sandra Hsu is honored to be a member of Ten Women artist gallery. A life-long resident of Santa Monica, with the exception of 4 years in upstate New York at Cornell University, Sandra is proud to be a member of an organization that promotes women in the arts.
Sandra’s artwork has always taken inspiration from light and color. As an undergraduate at Cornell studying fashion in the School of Human Ecology, Sandra participated in one of the inaugural Cornell Fashion Collective shows, where she learned first-hand how to take a design concept from the page to the runway. Her illustrations continue her lifelong love of high fashion and beauty in all forms.
After a brief stint designing clothing under her own label, Sandra joined the family business which specialized in trade with China. Along with her husband Dana, she raised two sons, Noah and Jared. In recent years, she rediscovered her love of painting and devoted herself to building her craft. Sandra continues to grow as an artist and express herself through her watercolor painting. Her newest abstract watercolors are free-flowing and emotional, a departure from the meticulously controlled details of her landscapes and figurative work. Whether landscape, abstracts, or fashion illustration, you will know a Sandra Hsu original - it will have vibrant color and pivot on light. She looks forward to continuing to grow and develop as an artist and share her work AT Ten Women Gallery.
